GETTING HELP

The first step toward getting help is admitting you have a problem. If you recognize that alcohol is interfering with your ability to live life to the fullest, you can begin taking the steps necessary to change your life.

There are a number of sources available to you to help you get on track. Some people need medically supervised detox to withdraw from alcohol. It really depends on how much and how often you drink. Many hospitals have detox programs and can give you special medications such as suboxone to help you through the withdrawal period.

The next step is to either go to an alcohol rehab to get the therapy and tools you need to keep away from alcohol or to join a group such as Alcoholics Anonymous to get help from people who have been down the same path.
